Jungle Fever

The summertime calls for the time to bring out, what we call the wild side. This being said, animal and ikat prints have become a pretty popular trend this season. There are ways to add a splash but to not over do it. The popular animal prints this season cover a wide range of zebra, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, snakeskin, and peacock feather accents to name some of the most popular.

The way to present an outfit with animal prints would be by adding a shoe, headband, scarf, leggings, bracelet, or a cardigan to accent. I think the animal prints presented in a subtle way make that piece or pieces stick out the most; an extremely “matchy” outfit can make you look like an animal in my opinion. Another example would be to mix animal prints with other prints but this takes some skill to be done but it can be done successfully.

A detailed description of a successful outfit would be some leopard flats, leopard clutch, skinny jeans, a solid colored top of some sort or a top with a print other than an animal print. This is a very subtle way of showing your wild side without doing too much. A detailed description of an unsuccessful outfit would be a zebra print top with zebra print bottom and black shoes. The reason this outfit is unsuccessful is because you have too much animal print. I also think zebra leggings are not very flattering on anyone because the print is just so bold.

The key to showing animal prints this season is to have it as one or two pieces other than just having the top and bottom of your outfit the same print. Spreading the print to different pieces of your outfit make people notice your accent pieces more. You never want to do too much with prints because it could end in disaster.

Just remember to have fun with your wild side and it shall be good to you *wink*.
